Pet safety when there are fireworks around

All animals need to be treated with special care when fireworks are around. They are easily frightened. here are 6 ways to keep your pets safe!
• Give your pet extra bedding to burrow into so it feels safe.
• Make sure your dog is walked earlier in the day before the fireworks start & always keep dogs and cats in.
• Act normal and stay calm, give lots of praise for calm behaviour. Cuddle or stroke your pet if it helps them relax.
• If you are planning a firework display in a rural area, you should warn neighbouring farms in advance.
• Never take your dog to a fireworks display.
• Don’t get angry with your pet if you find they start to take cover in strange places – put the dog basket in the bottom of your wardrobe or cupboard!
